Our History
Mallett Excavating, Inc. started in January 1995 with Rick Mallett as the only employee. He was encouraged to start an excavating business by a couple general contractors that needed a reliable excavating contractor with the knowledge and experience needed for work in public utilities. This was the start of our customer base. The business proved successful enough that it became a fulltime operation in November 1999. Since that time our gross as well as net income has steadily increased through diligent resource planning, as well as constant fine tuning of our estimating and field processes. We currently do all types of site work, road work, utility work including water systems, septic systems, foundation excavation and municipal projects.
Rick and I have been involved in our community for over 40 years and have many valued personal and business contacts. These contacts led us to an opportunity to partner on several projects with an 8A Contractor who introduced us to working with the U.S. Forest Service. Since that time we have partnered with several other 8A and Service Disabled Contractors who have enabled us to gain valuable experience working with the USFS and the FHWA.
Our customer base also includes a number of general contractors as well as many homeowners who have been extremely loyal to us and who we consider friends as well as business associates.
